night of the year - the AWARD Awards 2004 attracted the largest
crowd in many years. 800 people gathered on a beautiful night
at the Pavilion at the AJC to find out this year’s most
creative winners in TV, Cinema, Radio, Print, Graphic Design,
Interactive and Direct Marketing.
Campari cocktails and lute players kicked off the alchemy
themed night, Shaun Micallef once again hosting the evening
with great success. 105 awards were delivered including 4
Gold Awards – two went to the beautiful Herringbone
campaign, one to Warren – Virgin Mobile and one to TBWA
Japan for their amazing outdoor poster for adidas with people
playing ‘vertical football.’
The magical forest stage looked enchanting with castles, cauldrons
and coloured lighting. Shaun entertained guests with some
humorous magical tricks, impaling a guest on a sword and locking
Ben Welsh (Joint Chairman of AWARD) in shackles.
The guests partied hard and long into the night, at least
350 people attending the after party at Cherri Jam in Double
Bay.
