Tour de SBS 2015

Two de Force has managed the ‘Tour de SBS’ since its inception in 2011 and it is by far one of our most creative events.

The premise of the night is to highlight the various verticals that SBS has to offer potential advertisers and strengthen their relationship with media agencies.

Every year the formalities commence with a cycling challenge to highlight SBS being the official broadcaster of the Tour de France.

Two de Force is responsible for coming up with the ideas for the challenges and making them all happen! This is just some of what our contestants faced in 2015:

Cycling
Contestants were required to ride a mini bike along a course that featured typical French shops such as a boutique fashion store, a café and a wine shop. At each stop they needed to change into French inspired clothing and collect French items and carry them to the finish line.

Spice Bazaar
By far the most beautiful set at the event. The challenge space itself was themed to look like a spice bazaar. Oversized bowls filled with colourful spices, hookahs, hanging baskets, platters of delicious food were on display.

The challenge itself was a taste test. Tasters were blindfolded and served tiny morsels of food. They then needed to identify the spice that makes up the most dominant flavour in each item.

Football
There is always one challenge that grabs guests’ attention from the start. This was it. A huge adult sized ball pit.

Hundreds of yellow cards were scattered throughout the pit, taped to the floor, to the balls and floating around individually. The yellow cards each earned the contestant a certain number of points.

The second part to this challenge is a Soccer Speed Contest. Participants entered into an enclosed sports cage where they kicked a ball in the attempt to record the fastest speed on the radar.

Content
Another visually commanding set. One section of the event space was themed to reflect the South Park animated series landscape. In the centre of the staging were two of the South Park characters with their faces cut out. Two contestants went up at a time and competed in a rapid-fire quiz. Incorrect answers resulted in a pie in the face.

This event is LOVED by the industry. It is often a short lead-time gig, which means we get numerous calls from agencies checking that they will be on the invitation list when the event is announced.

It is a huge pleasure to work on an event that people are so enthusiastic about. It challenges us further as a team to create a bigger and better ‘Tour de SBS’ each year.
