2016 marked the 18th year of the MFA Awards. For the second year running, the event was held at the stunning Exhibition Hall at the Australian Technology Park. The challenge that Two de Force faced was to make the space feel different to the previous year whist staying true to the MFA creative. Two de Force were able to create a high end but rustic feel, filling the space with beautiful furniture, greenery and elegance.
Over 700 guests attended the event and were greeted by flowing drinks, delicious canapés and channel Sevens Sophie Falkiner who was interviewing guests on the red carpet. Attendees unwound to tunes played by Nine’s very own DJ who spun turns in their vintage combi van. Social media feeds then took the main focus when the Instagram anti-gravity booth and Channel Seven flipbook areas were discovered.
Formalities kicked off with a bang as the Martini Club took to the stage entertaining guests with upbeat funk & soul music. Guests took their seats in the theatre style space and enjoyed the eksy’s filled with drinks while they watched the band preform their final number.
The delightfully funny Julia Zemiro emceed the event and kept guests entertained & charmed for the 18 categories presented in the first half. During the formalities, guests had the opportunity to post live tweets and photos, which would appear on the massive social media screens provided by our Grand Prix Sponsor, RED.
Guests were then invited to proceed to the next stage of the event. They were seated amongst the flowers and greenery whilst they enjoyed an indulgent main course. The formalities then closed with the final 5 big awards.
With all the Awards announced it was time for the celebrations to begin. The Martini Club took back to the stage for a full set of live music; the desserts buffets were flowing with decadent sweets and the photo activations were in full swing. Guests were also treated to the MCN House, a cutting edge installation in which guests would only be able to see moving imagery when wearing the MCN sunglasses.
What a night!
